Velvet Crush

It’s that time of year again and the countdown is on! Christmas trees are being trimmed, stockings are hung, menorahs are being lit and hopefully my holiday cards will make it out before the New Year. (It’s a busy month, but the memories make the holidays so beautiful and grand.)

Now lets talk about the parties! I often get questions from clients about proper attire for holiday/ New Years soirées and I simply respond with “festive attire” is the way to go.

Last year velvet was hitting a comeback and this year, designers did not disappoint with a variety of options. I love how a elegant trend evolves. The 90’s gave me my first experience with velvet. However, it was a more grunge style. (Think Nirvana,Pearl Jam…you get the point.) Those baby doll dresses and chokers were IT!

*A velvet blazer is sure to make a statement and will complete your attire while turning some heads. (Think gem color options vs the standard black.)

*Black velvet leggings with a long tunic sweater or silk tunic blouse is chic and sophisticated. (*Lysee makes a great pair and they are outrageously comfortable!)

*The shoes! (I can’t even deal with all the velvet footwear.) From booties and pumps to a sweet little velvet slide are so on point. If you are a little nervous about this statement then simply carry a timeless velvet clutch. I’ve seen so many clutch options this season that can make your outfit pop. Go for it!

*A great velvet dress is a showstopper! Short or long…you can’t go wrong. I’m loving a little bell sleeve action, one shoulder or strapless for these festive occasions. Adorn your ears with some sparkle,a fabulous cocktail ring and hot red lips will certainly scream ‘Tis the Season’ and loads of cheer!

•Look smashing and take note that ONE velvet statement is enough. 🖤

Merry Everything!
