Ten at the Top (TATT), in tandem with the Upstate Air Quality Advisory Committee, invites Upstate stakeholders to A Cleaner Future: A Look at Air Quality, Sustainability & Energy Innovation in the Upstate presented by the Bon Secours Health System, scheduled for Friday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the TD Convention Center. This workshop will look at how innovation and technology is helping individuals, businesses, institutions and governments reduce emissions and enhance air quality whether it be in the home, while traveling or in the business setting.

“Air quality is an important issue for the Upstate,” Dean Hybl, TATT Executive Director, said. “Thanks to the work of many businesses, local governments and organizations, we have seen a significant reduction in emission levels, which is a positive for the health of our community as well as our economic stability.”

Ensuring that the Upstate region remains within attainment levels for the EPA Clean Air Act standards is critical to both the public health and economic viability of the region. In recent years, there have been numerous technology innovations that can help reduce emissions produced in a home, business or from mobile sources.

“The goal of this workshop is to look at how technology and innovation are enhancing the ability for individuals, businesses and governments to improve their environmental sustainability and their air quality while in many cases also positively impacting their finances,” Hybl said. “Attendees will have the chance for interactive conversations around a number of topics and hopefully leave with a clearer understanding of potential benefits and whether they are worth implementing in their home or company.”

The informative and interactive workshop will feature keynote discussions and breakout sessions focused around innovations that are helping to improve air quality while in many cases also providing financial benefits for an individual, business or local government.

After an opening session, attendees will self-select into the breakout sessions that best fit their interest: Home, Car/Travel or Business (each breakout session will be held twice to provide an opportunity to attend the two sessions of greatest interest). The workshop will conclude with lunch and a keynote program.

Visit the Ten at the Top Clean Air Upstate webpage for additional information about the workshop and to learn more about air quality efforts in the region. Individual tickets are $20 and include lunch. Advance registration is requested and interested parties may register here.

How to Get Involved

Sponsorship opportunities are currently available for A Cleaner Future at various levels. Additionally, TATT is seeking eight to 10 exhibitors to connect with attendees, helping “bring to life” the concepts and innovations discussed throughout the day. Exhibitors will be in a designated space at the TD Convention Center and spaces are awarded on a first-come first-served basis. There is no cost to be an exhibitor and the deadline to sign is Wednesday, August 1.
