Summer 2018 Fashion Trends: How to Pull Them off in Real Life

0

This year’s summer trends are bright and bold.  So bold that watching models walk down the Spring/Summer 2018 runways pretty much required sunglasses.  But, have no fear, you can adapt the following bold trends to everyday life with no problem!.

VINTAGE FLORALS

This one is for all my romantic and boho-inspired friends. Light breezy dresses are perfect for summer and easier and more pulled-together than your active wear.  Wearing one for a picnic, party, or just around town is a summer must.

This Vera Wang silk maxi dress is perfect dressed up or down. Pair with funky wedges and loose tousled hair for a casual, laid-back look.  Or add a strappy sandal, ladylike purse, and pearl earrings to take it up a notch. This could be beautiful at a summer wedding.

CRAZY-BRIGHT COLOR PALETTE

Holy smokes.  This one can easily be too much, but you can translate it to your daily life with no problem.  The key is to go for one bold piece per outfit.  I would choose an accessory—a surprise pop of color, if you’re timid. This brand new Louis Vuitton Sarah wallet could not be more perfect for summer. Or, for the more adventurous, this vintage red Escada blazer is right on trend.

PLAIDS

We don’t usually associate plaids with summer, but in the right weight fabric, they can work.  Pick something light and breathable (read: not flannel) and pair with white jeans, shorts, or a pencil skirt for work.

Polka Dots

This is probably the easiest of the trends to tackle, and it is a timeless summer staple.  Keep the palette simple in black or navy and white and then go for it!  We happen to have two awesome vintage party options in the shop right now that will seriously wow.  (And you all know our love for vintage)!
