South Carolina Children’s Theatre Caribbean Crush

South Carolina Children’s Theatre hosted another wonderful Caribbean Crush event on Friday, June 1 at Zen! Over $100,000 was raised for their education and outreach programs. This is the 11th year that South Carolina Children’s Theatre has hosted this popular, island-themed event. Augusta Grill and Larkin’s Catering and Events provided delicious fare for the event and over 400 people attended! “Outreach is a huge part of our mission”, says Debbie Bell, Executive Director. “We partner with so many child-centered agencies and help provide arts education to many underserved youth in our community!” Thanks to presenting sponsor, McKinney Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Mazda Inc. and to all of the wonderful sponsors, patrons and friends for making it one of the most successful events yet! Plan to attend next year! For more information, visit

South Carolina Childrens Theatre
Since 1987, South Carolina Children’s Theatre has impacted the lives of children and families in our community through theatre, educational classes and workshops, and accessible outreach initiatives. Each year, South Carolina Children’s Theatre produces and performs five high quality, live theatre performances featuring children and adults at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre. We also produce 4 additional shows and other special events at our 2nd Stage at SCCT headquarters at 153 Augusta Street in the West End. . Throughout the year, we offer professional year-round education in the dramatic arts for children ages 3 to 18, and we provide educational outreach to at-risk, disadvantaged, hospitalized and special needs children.

Mission: The South Carolina Children’s Theatre mission is to educate and stimulate the minds and imaginations of young people and their families through participation in high-quality theatre, year-round education, and accessible outreach.
