We all know washing your face is important. Let’s not lie to ourselves though, how often do you actually do it? I will admit, there are times when I have mistakenly fallen asleep with my makeup on — but that’s ok. Just as long as it’s not an every night occurrence. Even if you don’t wear makeup, it is important to keep up with your skin care routine for best results. Here’s why I stress about washing your face daily—throughout the day your skin gathers bacteria, pollutants, dirt and dead skin cells. Cleansing your skin helps to remove the surface dirt, oil, and other impurities. Be good to your skin, it deserves to be well taken care of!
Regardless of your skin type, the most you want to exfoliate is two to three times per week. Doing more than this recommended amount can make your skin feel tighter from excessive scrubbing and become sensitive or red. When exfoliating, use light pressure in upward and outward circular motions. Using too much pressure can also cause irritation and redness.
Seems simple enough to drink the recommended amount of water each day, but that’s easier said than done! Water has fantastic benefits for your skin, such as keeping your skin cells hydrated, working to keep wrinkles away, and plumping the skin giving it a natural radiant glow. Drinking water also helps flush impurities and toxins out of the system, keeping your face fresh, clean, and helping to reduce breakouts and acne. Try to add water to your daily lifestyle, trust me, your skin and body will thank you!
