Miracle Hill’s Renewal Addiction Recovery Center Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Reunion event to commemorate “20 Years of Changed Lives”

GREENVILLE, SC (July 20, 2017) – Miracle Hill Ministries’ Renewal addiction recovery center celebrated 20 years of changed lives at an anniversary event held July 22, 2017, 9:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Larkin’s Sawmill in Greenville.

Renewal is a 25-bed, six-month, residential program that uses a 12-step model to help women experience freedom from life-dominating addictions.  Over the past 20 years, more than 350 women have graduated from the program, with a success rate of 70 percent of graduates continuing to live clean, sober and healthy lives one year after completion.

“One of the key components of our program’s success is the transitional housing we offer.  More than 50 percent of graduates choose transitional housing to continue in healthy relationships, a structured lifestyle with accountability, counseling and goal planning,” said Venus Dixon, Director of Renewal.

Dixon also credits various community partners with providing vital resources to help women recover during their stay at Renewal and to support long-term productive living beyond graduation:
•    New Horizon provides routine and extensive medical care.
•    Greenville Literacy Association helps women obtain their GED and Work Keys certification.
•    Greenville Mental Health Center provides mental health services.
•    SC Vocational Rehabilitation provides job training and job placement services.
•    Churches provide financial support and spiritual support through mentoring, counseling and coaching.

Program participants receive intensive counseling, mentoring, structure and accountability as they complete substance abuse education, employment readiness, relapse prevention and establish healthy relationships.  Community living provides the opportunity to put into practice on a daily basis the biblical principles they learn, thus promoting a healthy and nurturing environment. The four stages of the program include (Level 1) Building a spiritual foundation, (Level 2) Inner healing, (Level 3) Building healthy relationships, and (Level 4) Employment readiness and life planning.

Renewal graduations are open to the public and take place on the second Tuesday of each month, 6:00 p.m. at The Sawmill, 22 Graves Dr. in Greenville.  For more information or to apply for the program, call the Renewal Center at 864.242.2166.
