A lot of people suggest soaking apples in lemon juice to prevent browning. I prefer soaking them in Sprite. Not only does it work, but it also doesn’t give any sour taste to your cut up apples. Soak them for about 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so to distribute. The Sprite will keep them from browingin for 2-3 days. Toss them in a container & bring them into work with you & share it with a coworker the next day!
Toffee Apple Dip
8 oz cream cheese, softened
¾ C brown sugar
½ C powdered sugar
¾ cup of toffee bits, plus more for topping
- Mix together cream cheese & sugars. Add in vanilla extract and blend until smooth. Stir in toffee bits. Chill for at least 1 hour.
- Serve with apples (sliced & pre soaked in sprite)
Leftovers will be good for 10-14 days (if you can make this last that long), re stir each time before eating.
