New Contributor Alert: Lindsay Cote

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Lindsay Cote to our community of collaborators! This northern transplant has fallen in love with the Upstate, and we can’t wait to hear from her each week. For now, let’s get to know her a bit!

The CLUTCH: Tell us about yourself, Lindsay.

Lindsay: I am originally from Maine and have lived in the upstate for the past 10 years. I am married to a fellow “Mainer” and we have a 5 year old son who will start kindergarten in the fall. I work full time as a Human Resources professional in Greenville and also started a lifestyle blog a few short months ago as a creative outlet. It has been a lot of fun so far!

The C: What brings you the most joy?

Lindsay: Spending time with family and friends, they mean everything to me! Life is crazy busy but spending the evenings and weekends laughing and catching up with them is great for the soul.

The C: Do you have any words to live by?

Lindsay: “Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back and realize they were the big things.” This resonates with me because it’s so easy to get caught up in day to day with work and busy schedules and it helps reminds me to stop and take a breathe of fresh air and just be.

The C: Have you seen any good movies lately?

Lindsay:  I’m a Netflix gal! I recently finished “Big Little Lies” on HBO and am now watching “Ozark”. I highly recommend “Big Little Lies”; great scenery, wonderful acting, and a powerful message.

The C: What are some of your favorite spots in the Upstate?

Lindsay: Lately I am loving White Duck Taco/Birds Fly South. It is fantastic because it’s pet and kid friendly, has great food and drinks, and it’s nice to just sit outside when the weather is nice and relax. I also enjoy shopping local clothing boutiques in Greenville. A few of my current favorites are Madi Boutique in Greer, Southern Girl Chic in Simpsonville, and Bevello in downtown Greenville.

The C: What is something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t?

Lindsay: I really want to explore the Pacific Northwest; Oregon, Washington State, and northern California. It’s on my bucket  list and I’m going to make it happen at some point!
