“I Have a Dream” Clouds at Woodruff Library (Thursday, February 1, 2018, 10am – 8pm) During the month of February, children can fill out a cloud with a dream they have for a better tomorrow or something they want to accomplish in the future.

 

Things That Go Crafts Night at Cyrill-Westiside Library (Thursday, February 1, 2018, 6:30

– 7:30pm) Enjoy crafts featuring things like boats, planes, trains and automobiles.

 

February 2

Kids Night Out at Hearts of Clay (Saturday, February 2, 6:00 pm) You can drop your kids off at Hearts of Clay the FIRST FRIDAY of EVERY MONTH around 6:00pm! They will feed them dinner and spend time painting pottery, canvases or clay building. Pick up time is 8:15pm. $25 per child. $10 deposit preferred. Reservations needed ahead of time.

Build a Valentine Bean Bag Toss at Home Depot (Saturday February 3, 9-12pm) Head to the nearest Home Depot for a hands on workshop to build a custom Valentine Bean Bag Toss. Your child can personalize the game with paint and stickers. The activity is FREE and each child receives a certificate of achievement, an apron, and a pin while supplies last!

 

Ms. Baba’s Honey Bears at Headquarters Library (Saturday, February 3, 2018, 10 – 11am) A sensory learning program for children twelve and under and their caregivers for stories, songs, chants, rhymes and sensory play.

 

Saturday Lego Block Party at Cyrill-Westside Library (Saturday, February 3, 2018, 10:30 – 11:30am) Tired of stepping on Legos at home for days and days after playing with them? Join the Lego Block Party. With over 55 pounds of Legos – the possibilities are endless. There will be a special area for those under the age of 4 to play too.

Valentine Glass Fusion Class at Hearts of Clay (Saturday, February 3, 5:00 pm) Make a Valentine Inspired Bowl from fused six inch glass with step by step instruction. Character Day: Frozen at Cyrill-Westside Library (Monday, February 5, 2018, 4:30 – 5:30pm) Kids of all ages are invited to an afternoon of Frozen fun with crafts, games and more. You will even have an opportunity to take a picture with Elsa. Feel free to come dressed as your favorite Frozen character or just drop in for some Frozen fun. Sign up is required. Join us at our weekly Lego Club every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. We will have all sorts of fun with Legos. Kids will build vehicles, buildings and whatever else they can come up with. This program is open to kids ages 5-11.

Spartanburg Parks’ Daddy Daughter Dance at Cleveland Park (Friday, February 9, 6:30pm) Join Spartanburg Parks’ for a night of Daddy-Daughter Fun at Cleveland Park. Hub City Kids
At Hub City Kids, our mission is to promote community involvement, local activities, health, and creativity for kids in Spartanburg.  We use visual reminders on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to keep parents up to date with exciting things happening in Spartanburg while also providing creative ways to enjoy the many beautiful places in Spartanburg County.

We are Sarah Kate Abee and Katie Burnett-childhood friends, Spartanburg natives, and moms of preschoolers with hearts for serving children.  This, combined with our professions in the fields of early childhood education and pediatric occupational therapy, gives us a unique perspective and understanding of the importance of keeping kids active and involved in the community.  As we searched for quality activities for our own children, we saw the need for an easy to access resource for parents that compiles local events and opportunities for kids.

A few things you can expect to find on our site includes: pictures of kids' activities in the Spartanburg community, healthy snack ideas, “boredom busters,” scavenger hunts for local trails, and kid friendly community service ideas. While our passion at Hub City Kids is sharing all of the awesome free activities already happening in our community, we also offer advertising services for businesses that align with our four areas of focus.
