Getaway in the Upstate: Inn at Patrick Square

I am a sucker for weekend getaways and roadtrips of any kind. I firmly believe that a well-rounded person is well-traveled, and the best conversations happen in the car. However, a weekend getaway or travel of any kind outside of an annual vacation may seem like an unrealistic fantasy to many. I totally get that. I have news for you, though. The Inn at Patrick Square can make your getaway easily attainable!

The Inn at Patrick Square is located in Clemson, SC on Market Street, only a short drive for many of us in the upstate. It is situated in the middle of Patrick Square, an area that is also home to residential developments, two restaurants, and other businesses coming soon (such as a wine bar and yoga studio). You can’t ask for a better location! As a boutique hotel with 45 rooms, it feels very quaint and personable. Upon entering the hotel, my mouth immediately dropped in reaction to the stunning lobby and beautiful decor. I was shown to my room and was sure I’d have a very relaxing stay.

The Room

It was 4:30 in the afternoon, and I was so ready to jump in that plush king-size bed (it was just calling my name). The white down comforter, grand headboard, and feather pillows made for the perfect night’s sleep. The upscale bathroom included a beautiful marble shower with complimentary premium toiletries. Every room is 100% smoke-free and has an interactive smart TV, a mini fridge and Keurig system for your use.

What I loved most about this particular room was the gorgeous view of the grounds. The gazebo and green space created the perfect scenery to wake up to.

The Amenities

Along with the dreamy aesthetics, luxury rooms and incredible customer service, The Inn at Patrick Square has even more to offer to its guests. My favorite is the Stumphouse Cafe located on site off of the lobby. This cafe and eatery is the perfect spot for morning coffee and pastries by the fire, a light lunch, or a quick midday pick-me-up. It has a very inviting modern rustic vibe that begs your attention. They serve Methodical Coffee (hello, Greenville) and baked goods from Sweet Spot, a local Clemson bakery. I happily enjoyed my breakfast here by the fire.

The Inn offers beautiful ballrooms and grounds for meetings, weddings, conferences, social events. There are plenty of dining options, including Rick Erwin’s and Joe’s Pizza, with more coming. Plus, Clemson University is only a 5 minute drive away!

Many thanks to the general manager, Karen, and everyone on property for making our stay unforgettable. The CLUTCH was welcomed on property as a guest, but our opinions remain our own.
